Since 1993, local radio people from all over Germany and other countries have been meeting once a year at the Nuremberg Local Broadcasting Conference. It provides a platform for the discussion of the latest developments in local broadcasting.
BLM Local Broadcasting Conference
Another annual event hosted by the BLM is the Media Talk which takes place in Augsburg. In lively discussions the latest media developments are analysed. Giovanni di Lorenzo, Patricia Riekel, Margarethe Schreinemakers or Ulrich Tilgner are just some of the journalists which have been participating in this event over the last years.
The Augsburg Media Talk is an event aiming at the public and always meets with wide interest. In contract, the Local Broadcasting Conference in Nuremberg and the Congress organized by the BLM during the Munich Media Days are geared towards experts and insiders.
BLM Forum
Experts are also addressed with the events organised under the heading "BLM Forum"; it deals with programme issues or questions of media economics.
In the BLM Forum, the BLM cooperates with other institutions, e.g. the Adolf-Grimme research and service institute. One of the panel discussions which the two institutions hosted jointly dealt with the MTV series "Jackass".
Munich Media Days
During the annual "Munich Media Days" Conference, all types of media and all issues of relevance to the industry are addressed - be it media politics, advertising, print, radio, film, television, the internet or media literacy. The Conference is held at the Conference Centre of the Munich International Trade Fair exhibition grounds in October. Visitors can choose from more than 80 panels where new business strategies and trends in the world of the media are debated among more than 500 speakers.
In its congress which forms part of the Conference, the BLM organises panels on issues concerning radio and television and hosts the forum on media literacy. Furthermore, the BLM has been staging a trade fair during the congress which aims at broadcasting, film and the new media. Here, the BLM also hosts its own stand. The Munich Media Days Conference is jointly organised by DVB Multimedia Bayern GmbH and gotobavaria, a division of FilmFernsehFonds Bayern. It is supported by the State Chancellery of Bavaria and the BLM.
